Leading corporate and technology law firm, Moorcrofts, proudly announces the addition of two new Partners.

Lindsey Abbott has been promoted to Employment Partner, and having been with Moorcrofts since 2019, she brings a wealth of experience and exceptional skills in employment law to her new role. As an experienced employment solicitor, she specialises in advising on complex legal matters. Her expertise extends to providing strategic advice to employers on workforce management issues, including restructuring, TUPE transfers, and collective consultation processes.  Lindsey also represents employers in tribunal claims and her proficiency includes direct negotiation with opposing legal teams and mediation services like ACAS,  covering a variety of cases ranging from public interest disclosure claims to race discrimination claims.

In her new capacity, Lindsey will play a pivotal role in driving Moorcrofts‘ employment law division forward, bolstering the firm’s capabilities and enhancing client services.

Barry Maytum has also ascended to the position of Partner. With over 30 years of experience as a corporate lawyer, a significant portion of which was spent in the city, Barry brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.

Specialising in corporate law, Barry advises clients on venture capital and private equity investments, acquisition finance, management buy-outs, mergers & acquisitions, and shareholder agreements. He has extensive experience of acting for large international technology companies, growing companies and venture capital funds, as well as cross-border transactions.

The breadth and depth of his knowledge will significantly bolster the offering of the Corporate team.

Alongside these appointments, Moorcrofts also announces that Sharan Uppal in the commercial property team has been promoted to Associate.

Commenting on the appointments and promotions, Teri Hunter, Managing Partner at Moorcrofts, said:

“We are thrilled to appoint Lindsey as Employment Partner, alongside Barry as a Corporate Partner and Sharan as Commercial Property Associate. Their dedication, expertise, and commitment to delivering exceptional service make them invaluable assets to our firm as we continue to provide comprehensive legal and effective solutions to our clients.”

These promotions underscore Moorcrofts’ commitment to recognising and nurturing talent within the firm, reinforcing its dedication to excellence in legal services.

Moorcrofts is a boutique firm of solicitors, focusing on corporate and contract law, tech law, employment (including employee incentivisation) and commercial property. Housing one of the largest corporate and technology teams in the Thames Valley and acting for some of the biggest names in the world.
