Moorcrofts recently advised on the sale of Car-Comm Coachworks Limited (“Car-Comm”) to Steer Automotive Group (“Steer”), one of the UK’s largest providers of commercial vehicle repair and refurbishment services.

Moorcrofts’ corporate partners Teri Hunter and Kate Prentis led the transaction with support from Heather Stewart (corporate associate solicitor), Julia Ferguson (property partner), Timothy Astley (commercial partner), and Lindsey Abbott (employment partner).

Car-Comm is a leading specialist in the repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles.  This strategic acquisition is a significant milestone in Steer’s expansion into the specialist commercial vehicle repair sector.

Speaking about the acquisition Teri Hunter, corporate partner, said:

“We are thrilled to have advised the shareholders of Car-Comm on the sale of such a well-established business. I’m certain that the addition of Car-Comm’s expertise in the repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles will enable Steer to further enhance its offering.  It was a pleasure to work with the team and we wish the business the best of luck in the future.”

Echoing this sentiment, Jason Mole, said:

“A huge thank you too Teri and the Moorcrofts team for all their hard work and especially the long hours put in to get this over the line so quickly. I know it was a little more complicated than the norm, so really appreciated the different skill sets Moorcrofts have within the business.  Your hard work and attitude to helping us through this was fantastic.” Jason further commented that “this partnership builds on our robust reputation and Elite Truck & Van Standards we have earned to date, and I am excited to work with the Steer team to grow both the Heathrow site and Steer’s wider commercial vehicle repair offering.”

Other professional advisers on the transaction included Azets (accountants and tax advisors for Car-Comm), and HCR Law (legal advisors for Steer) and RSM (tax advisors to Steer).

Moorcrofts regularly acts for buyers, sellers and investors across a broad range of industry sectors.
