Moorcrofts LLP has advised Hive Ventures Limited (“The Hive”) on the sale of the controlling interest of shares in the capital of The Hive, from the Johnson family to Neil Clark.

The Hive is a collection of companies operating in the recruitment sector under the brands Nicoll Curtin, BeecherMadden and District4. The Hive has extensive experience and expertise in technology recruitment including FinTech and cyber security with offices in London, Zurich, Belgrade and Washington DC.

The Hive’s new Group CEO, Neil Clark, said:

“I was previously the managing director at Nicoll Curtin for 3 years and am excited to be back to take over the reins from Derek and James who have taken this business from strength to strength. With over 35 years’ experience in the sector I am hoping to add some real value and help our teams develop on the already well-respected and award-winning brands that we operate under.”

Moorcrofts’ head of corporate and partner, Teri Hunter, led the deal with support from corporate partner, Peter Woolley and corporate solicitor, Mohsin Shabbir.

On the service provided, Neil Clark said:

“The Hive have known Moorcrofts for a long while and have worked with us on various corporate law matters including the acquisition of the BeecherMadden brand. We have been delighted with the excellent service provided by Moorcrofts and we look forward to working with them again”.

Teri Hunter, said:

“We have advised The Hive (formerly Nicoll Curtin) for many years and it has been a pleasure assisting with this share restructure. We wish Derek and Linda Johnson all the best and look forward to continuing our working relationship with The Hive in future projects.”
