Adam Forder, solicitor in the corporate team has taken on the hellish challenge to ‘lift’ 100 tonnes, roughly the weight of a Boeing 757-200 or a blue whale on Saturday 22 August 2020 in aid of Moorcrofts charity partner, SpecialEffect.

To achieve the challenge, Adam will be doing in a single day:

  • 500 repetitions of 100kg Deadlifts
  • 500 repetitions of 50kg Bench Press
  • 500 repetitions of 50kg Bent Over Rows

Julia Ferguson, Head of Moorcrofts charity committee said:

“We’re delighted that Adam has taken on the challenge to support our charity partner and come up with his own somewhat unusual method of fundraising. Lifting 100 tonnes in a single day, will be no mean feat. The whole team is behind him and will be rooting for him on the day.”

SpecialEffect is a charity that puts fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by offering bespoke technology to enable them to play video games. By levelling the playing field, they bring families and friends together, having a profoundly positive impact on therapy, confidence and rehabilitation.

To support Adam and help raise funds for SpecialEffect, you can make a donation via the 100 tonne challenge Just Giving page.
