Moorcrofts Extends SpecialEffect Partnership

Moorcrofts Corporate Law, will be extending its charity partnership with SpecialEffect until April 2022.

SpecialEffect was appointed as Moorcrofts’ charity of the year in 2019 with the proposal to have the partnership in place for two-years. However, with fundraising heavily restricted by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, Moorcrofts partners and charity committee have made the decision to continue to support SpecialEffect for the next 12-months.

To date, Moorcrofts has raised nearly £3,500 through a number of activities, including a 46-mile virtual walk from its office in Marlow to SpecialEffect’s office in Charlbury, Adam’s 100 Tonne Challenge and a charity quiz.

Julia Ferguson, Head of Moorcrofts’ Charity Committee, said:

“The past year has been a difficult one for all with the charity sector being amongst the hardest hit. Many of our own fundraising activities were unable to go ahead as planned. Hopefully, with restrictions lifting, we will be in a position to hold the events we originally had scheduled later in 2021 and put our efforts into fundraising as much as possible for SpecialEffect.”

Moorcrofts is planning to host its postponed ‘Charity Night at the Races’ event this Autumn, which will provide sponsorship opportunities for other businesses to get involved and support SpecialEffect as well as come along to enjoy the evening!

SpecialEffect is a charity that puts fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by offering bespoke technology to enable them to play video games. By levelling the playing field, they bring families and friends together, having a profoundly positive impact on therapy, confidence and rehabilitation.

To support SpecialEffect, donations can be made via Moorcrofts Just Giving page.
