Joe Hughes has joined law firm Moorcrofts as Practice Manager, the first incumbent of this newly created role.

Reporting to CFO, Teri Hunter, Joe’s remit is to lead the administration team supporting the firm’s lawyers. As well as ensuring compliance with the various rules and regulations the firm is subject to, whilst taking overall responsibility for premises, risk management, suppliers, training and recruitment.

Teri Hunter, CFO, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Joe to Moorcrofts. Joe’s knowledge and experience will help build and continually improve the solid foundations of the firm and our strategic vision to be the leading corporate and technology law firm in the Thames Valley region.”

Joe is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Finance & Management and was formerly the Finance Director at BrookStreet des Roches LLP Solicitors, leading the firm’s Finance and Administration team. He aided in the successful sale of the firm to Knights PLC at the beginning of 2019. He is an experienced COFA, MLRO, and Legal Accountant with a wealth of financial skills in LLP Accounts and Tax.

Joe said:

“I am excited to be joining Moorcrofts. It is a partner led firm, with a real focus on commercial understanding and providing an exceptional client experience. I look forward to working with the partners and the whole of Moorcrofts team.”

The appointment follows a period of rapid growth for Moorcrofts. Within the last two years, it has invested significantly within the practice. In the last 12 months alone, Moorcrofts has nearly doubled in size, now housing one of the largest corporate and commercial legal teams in the Thames Valley region, whilst at the same time as consolidating the 16% growth achieved by the firm in 2017-2018.
