About Joe Hughes
Joe is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Finance & Management and was formerly the Finance Director at BrookStreet des Roches LLP Solicitors, leading the firm’s Finance and Administration team.
Following the sale of his previous firm he has joined Moorcrofts as Practice Manager to head up the administration function. He is an experienced COFA, MLRO, and Legal Accountant with a wealth of financial skills in LLP Accounts and Tax.
Career
In the early part of his career, Joe managed the Finance and Administration team for Linnells Solicitors until the firm merged with Blake Lapthorn in 2003. After two years with the newly formed firm, Blake Lapthorn Linnell, Joe was headhunted by BrookStreet des Roches Solicitors and he joined as Practice Manager in May 2005 at its office in Witney, Oxfordshire. Due to the firm’s success in growth and profitability, Joe was promoted to Finance Director in April 2017 and aided in the successful sale of the firm to Knights PLC. Joe has been at Moorcrofts since October 2019 and continues to use his experience to head up the firm’s administration function.

Personal
In Joe’s younger years he played football at a good standard. On retirement from playing football his passion for the game took him to coaching youth football up to county level, and then on to adult football within the Oxfordshire and Berkshire leagues. He enjoys cycling and the occasional 5K run, but his association with team sports is now reduced to just watching rather than taking part.
He enjoys attending live sporting events, travel, good wine, and an occasional pint of Guinness, or real ale.
