At Moorcrofts, we believe in giving back.

Supporting charitable causes and making a difference in our local communities is something we care deeply about. It’s part of who we are – not just as a law firm, but as a team of people who want to use our time and resources to help others.

Championing Charitable Causes

We support a wide range of charitable organisations through workplace fundraising events, community volunteering, and donations. These efforts are led by our charity committee, made up of volunteers from across the firm who help coordinate activities and encourage involvement from all corners of Moorcrofts.

Over the past 18 months our team has supported and raised over £2,000 for a range of charities, including:

Our local charity partner: Thames Valley Adventure Playground

Our current local charity partner is Thames Valley Adventure Playground (TVAP), an organisation that supports children and adults with all types of special needs, along with their siblings, parents, and carers.

They provide specialist indoor and outdoor play, recreational, and learning facilities for people with physical or learning disabilities, sensory impairments, behavioural difficulties, autism, or social disadvantages, offering an inclusive and supportive space where everyone is welcome.

To support TVAP, we have:

  • Volunteered our time to help maintain the playground’s grounds
  • Hosted a Quiz Night, raising £1,190
  • Organised further fundraising activities.

We are currently organising a BINGO night for TVAP that will take place in October 2025.

Previous charity partner

We have previously supported SpecialEffect, a charity that uses technology to enhance the quality of life for people with physical disabilities, helping them to play video games, interact with others, and access communication tools.

During our partnership, we raised over £2,000 through a combination of in-office fundraising events, a race night and pub quiz, team challenges, and external donations.

Getting involved in the community

Beyond charity partnerships, Moorcrofts is committed to active local engagement.

Highlights include:

  • Marlow Santa Fun Run: We are proud sponsors of this beloved annual event organised by the Rotary Club of Marlow. As well as taking part in the run itself, our team volunteers as marshals, helps with the drinks stalls and with event logistics such as leafleting and packing runners’ kits.
  • Upcoming: Reading Legal Walk: Later this year, we’ll join the local legal community in this 10km walk to raise funds for charities providing free legal advice across Reading and the Thames Valley.
