About Chris

Chris has over 15 years’ experience in the Technology sector. Now working at Moorcrofts as a paralegal, Chris leverages his extensive contracts management experience to support the firm’s IT clients.

He also has extensive systems and technical experience both from his time working in IT and in his previous legal position, and he is helping to drive a current Moorcrofts project to integrate contract management processes into clients’ Salesforce instances. Chris is also involved in drafting agreements, like master service agreements, licences, data processing agreements etc, as well as working on projects like GDPR and Modern Slavery Act preparation.

Chris has a keen interest in open chain and open hardware, key specialisms of the IT team at Moorcrofts and rapidly expanding fields in the industry and has worked with Andrew Katz in this area.

Career

Chris worked in IT for many years as a freelance consultant in Ireland for a large telecoms company, and in the UK in the financial and insurance sectors. Chris specialised in enterprise storage and storage area networks. Due to the nature and importance of storage within an enterprise, Chris developed a broad and deep understanding of enterprise technology in general.

Chris left IT and took up a role as a paralegal in Logicalis, a UK IT services and equipment reseller. Working in a busy in-house team, Chris dealt with all aspects of Logicalis’ legal demands. This was predominantly high value service and supply agreements, master service agreements, NDAs and other customer/ supplier agreements. Additionally, Chris worked to streamline the processes within the department, including implementing an E-Signing solution for use in the in-house team and the wider organisation.

Chris then moved to Moorcrofts and took up a position as a paralegal in the Technology and IP Law team. Chris’ time at Moorcrofts has included a 6-month secondment with a client as their interim contracts manager.
